The Vision Vol. 2 – Little Better Than A Beast (Comic Review)

In my review of The Vision Volume 1, I gave it a perfect 10 because in my opinion, there was no imperfections with that particular volume and the same can be said for volume 2. The only complaint with this great story is that it is only 12 issues. The second volume completes the story that the first volume started and it ends with a bang! Volume 2 wraps up the story neatly and even has time before it finishes to provide readers with an intimate and heartbreaking look into Vision and Scarlet Witch’s early days and how they quickly fell in love and inevitably out of love. This issue was one of my personal favorites in the series, taking a moment to explore the character relationships and a sort of origin to some of the series regulars. This particular issue was illustrated by Michael Walsh and it looks just as beautiful as Walta’s art, while giving this issue its own unique feel. Without delving into spoilers I will simply say that the conclusion of the story is very satisfying, and fitting for the story that was chosen to tell. Again, Tom King and Gabriel Hernandez Walta are just as fantastic delivering the ending of The Visions’s story as they were with the beginning. The series being only 12 issues isn’t a fault by any means. If anything, it will make readers appreciate the content and very personal story. If you read Volume 1 and couldn’t put it down like I couldn’t, you owe it to yourself to finish the story. It is easily one of Marvel Comics hidden gems and a series I regret not picking up sooner!
