The Bride
Release date: 3/6/2026

Starring Jessie Buckley an Christian Bale, two incredible actors who should be getting much more recognition in their respective careers than they seem to be, will take on the roles of Frankenstein’s monster and his Bride. Written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, this looks to be a fun and impactful period take on the iconic Universal Monsters. I appreciate giving the story a new direction and setting rather than trying to be a straightforward remake of the property.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
Release Date: 4/3/2026

Following one of, if not the biggest hit of 2023, the Super Mario Bros are back for more with the Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Set to adapt the Game of the same name, with new additions to the cast including Brie Larson as Rosalina, Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr, and the addition of fan favorite Yoshi, this sequel looks set to be just as big a hit as its predecessor and just as much of a blast.
Hokum
Release Date: 5/1/2026

It is hard in this day and age to get surprised by something. With leaks seemingly everywhere and for everything, its refreshing to not know much about a movie before its release. Neon seems to be keeping Hokum close to the chest, given that it only has a brief teaser and a one sentence Synopsis. I know the movie stars Adam Scott and looks to be very witchy and scary given the teaser. I don’t need to know more than that, i’m fully on board the hype train for this one.
Mortal Kombat 2
Release Date: 5/8/2026

Coming out of the pandemic, Mortal Kombat was one of the first movies to try to get audiences back into the Theaters. A smart move, given that these over the top movies are tailor made for the theatrical experience. The sequel unfortunately got pushed from 2025 to May of 2026. This looks like it will be worth the wait thankfully. Introducing more of the iconic Kombatants and seemingly upping the Gore this time around, Mortal Kombat 2 looks like it will be a Flawless Victory into this summer of movies. Plus Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, that casting alone should get fans in seats.
Supergirl
Release Date: 6/26/2026

Fresh off the heels of Superman, comes Supergirl. This movie looks like it could be something special. Coming 42 years after the first and only other film made about the maiden of might, this version stars Milly Alcock and will adapt one of the best DC stories, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. This film will also feature the live action debut of the Main Man, Lobo, played by Jason Momoa. I for one can’t wait to see what this new DCU has in store for Supergirl.
The Odyssey
Release Date: 7/17/2026

The Odyssey is shaping up to be the movie of the Summer. Directed by Christopher Nolan, adapting the story by Homer and sporting one of the biggest ensemble casts in recent memory, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland and Anne Hathaway. This movie could be 4 hours long and I don’t think it would detract audiences from flocking to it. With Nolan not being a fan of CGI, it will be interesting as well as dazzling i’m sure, to see what kind of practical effects magic can be cooked up. Anticipation is at a high for the Odyssey, and I’m not sure Christopher Nolan is capable of disappointing.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Release Date: 7/31/2026

One of Marvel’s most iconic characters returns this summer with Brand New Day. I am excited for this film for a slew of reasons. It is finally returning Spider-Man to being a City/ Street level hero, after sending him to space and having him combat literal aliens and multiversal threats. The film is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi and the Legend Of The Ten Rings in 2021, as well as Jackie Chan’s stunt team who also worked on Shang Chi. Looking forward to epic action scenes with absolutely insane choreography. To top it all off, Mark Ruffalo is returning as the Hulk, as well as fan favorite Jon Bernthal as the Punisher. If Avengers Doomsday ends up being a dud, at least we’ll have Brand New Day to soften the blow.
Clayface
Release Date: 9/11/2026

Clayface is a interesting character to adapt. With the DCU choosing the character to get his own film, its hard not to be excited, if not curious as well. With a script written by Mike Flanagan, based off the Batman Animated Series episodes Feat of Clay, this could be the perfect way to introduce us to Matt Hagen. Tom Rhys Harries will be portraying Hagen, with little else known about the film aside that it will have a similar feel to The Substance, an excellent body horror film from 2024. Comic book inspired body horror, sign me up!
Street Fighter
Release Date: 10/16/2026

This movie looks absolutely unhinged in the best possible way. Street Fighter looks to be larger than life with this movie, not shying away from the camp and staying true to its source, Starring Jason Momoa, 50 Cent and David Dastmalchian to name a few, it looks like all the cast and crew are seriously committed to giving fans a faithful adaptation of Street Fighter, similar to what was done with Mortal Kombat in 2021. Fingers crossed this movie can manage that task so we can all forget about the “So bad its good” version from 1994.
Dune Part Three
Release Date 12/18/2026

I never in my life would have thought the Dune franchise would be as big and recognized as it is in 2026. That speaks to the power that Denis Villeneuve has as a director. For him to take Dune and turn it into the Huge Sci-Fi epic that it always knew it could be is no small task. Thankfully he’ll be returning to direct the third firm, which is the second book in the saga, Dune: Messiah. Villeneuve has given this franchise new life and along with his major ensemble casts he assembles, this movie being no exception, looks to keep Dune at the forefront of Sci-Fi cinema for years to come.
